Built on reclaimed land near Chek Lap Kok island approximately 38 km from Tsim Tsa Tsui on the tip of Kowloon, the airport opened in 1998, replacing Kai Tak airport as the region's international airport.
Transportation to and from the airport is by Taxi, bus, or the MRT. Many hotels are part of limousine bus services that drop off and pick up passengers. A journey to the CDB takes about half an hour.
